3-Day Meal Plan

One thing that's necessary for an off-road trip is food. I like this list that I found at OverlandBound. While it may not be exactly what you take, it does give you some guidance about what types of things to take and how much time you may have to prepare things (i.e., day 2 lunch is a quick, on-the-go-lunch whereas dinner is a well prepared feast).

Day 1


  • Chips & Salsa
  • Easy to heat up canned chili/stew
  • Saltine Crackers
  • Carrots/veggie with hummus

Day 2


  • Cold Cereal w/ Almond Milk
  • Apples w/ Almond Butter
  • Coffee


  • Flour Tortilla rolled with lunch meat, cheese, veggies & Cholula (or PB&J!)
  • Chips & Salsa
  • Trail Mix
  • Apples w/ Almond Butter


  • Hunk of meat
  • Red Potatoes in Foil/with canned tomatoes, can of beans, veggies and seasoning
  • Broccoli w/ garlic salt and pepper

Day 3


  • Fruit
  • Instant Oatmeal
  • Pastries

Lunch (on the road)

  • Huge Burger from a drive-thru 🙂

Snacks & Desserts

  • Chips & Salsa
  • S'mores
  • Energy Bars
  • Trail Mix
  • Dried Fruit
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Crackers and Cheese
