Leatherman Bit Driver Extender

Why I will not be carrying the Leatherman bit driver extender as part of my EDC.

A little while back I went to Smoky Mountain Knife Works to pickup a bit kit set for my Leatherman. I was going to get one of these since it works with my sheath from RAE Gear New Wave/Wave Plus and Bit Kit Sheath Compatible with Leatherman Wave. I was told they were out of stock and they had been for a while. The guy talked me into buying the bit driver extender as a way to get similar functionality until the bit kits were back in stock.

I carried the bit driver extender for a while in a small case with the bits - this was never an EDC carry for me, but it was in the truck or Jeep where I could grab it when needed. Then it occurred to me that if I was carrying a case of bits, it would be easy enough to also carry a driver - or multiple drivers since I didn't have to worry about weight or size. That's when it occurred to me that I really didn't need the bit driver extender.

Leatherman did get the bit kit back in stock and I've got one of those that I couple with my Leatherman - those extra bits have come in handy a couple of times already, so I think I'll tick to this setup.
