Last week I discovered a new app to manage my notes: Obsidian. Previously, I was using Joplin and I liked that it was open source, but Obsidian stores the notes as just markdown files on the file system. With this difference, you lose the ability to have your notes encrypted, but that seems like a fair price to pay in exchange for having easy access to your notes - both read and write.
Somewhat unrelated, I have been thinking about revamping my personal web site for a while now. A few weeks ago I started looking at a product called gatsby and I've been playing with it for a while now. With gatsby, you can convert markdown into html. This seemed like a match made in heaven.
So I spent much of my time this weekend on integrating the two systems.
