Android Apps for Ham Radio

Android Apps for Ham Radio

I use a Lenovo tab M8 running Android 10 primarily to provide mapping for off-road trips and the ham radio software - it's not the best for performance, but it holds a charge for a long time

Navigation apps:

  • Gaia GPS,
  • CalTopo,
  • Google Maps,
  • OsmAnd,
  • Avenza Maps
  • CoMaps

Here's my list of Ham Radio apps that I use for Android:

  • APRSdroid,
  • APRS HUD,
  • javAPRSSrvrIgate,
  • EM Assistant (completing ICS-214 forms),
  • Sideband,
  • Mobilinkd TNC,
  • WoAD,
  • AndFlmsg,
  • DroidPSK,
  • Rattlegram,
  • RepeaterBook,

NA7Q has a modified version of APRSdroid and he has the APRS HUD app - available at https://na7q.com/aprsdroid-osm/

Other than these, I also use some SDR apps (SDRTouch, ADB-B Radar), ATAK, Meshtastic, then just some other misc tools (WireGuard, ZeroTier One, WISER, K-9 Mail, ntfy, Syncthing, etc.).
